Lots of pictures this week! Warning...its a long post....we started a play group this week and learned a lot. The other Moms are great and the other babies are all around Mason's age. So far Mason is the youngest but only by about two or three weeks, its so much fun to watch the older babies and see what Mason will be doing soon. We also learned that we do not have enough interactive toys. We have lots of "sit in" toys like the bouncer chair and swing and lots of "hold on to" toys and rattles, but not a lot of push, pull, toys. So I made Josh put together our ExerSaucer and Mason loves it! It is so fun to watch him push all the buttons and spin all the toys. He can flip the pages in the book to make new noises and just explores everything on the table. His feet are just shy of touching the ground..but he still makes it around the table. Chewy also got something new...a haircut! She was looking a little scruffy in the picture that I posted two weeks ago, so this week she got a haircut and man does she look funny! We've had a really hard time finding a groomer, so I took her back to Petsmart and told them that I wanted a summer cut for her. Well needless to say, they shaved all of her tummy and leg hair off and she looks super tiny and sort of like a rat. Poor Chewy! Last thing, our pools opened this week so we had to go check them out. There are three pools in our neighborhood and one is just down the road. It has a zero entry baby area with a cute frog slide (not that we will be using that this year, but maybe next year!) and a shade over most of the pool so we don't have to worry about burning. Mason was a little confused at first, but over all I think that he had a good time. We met our friend Grant at the pool and they both just sort of soaked it all in. He did enjoy floating around and all of the water spouts that came out of the baby pool.

Week 19
It's official! Mason had his first babysitter experience. We've had family watch him a few times, but this was a real babysitter, that wouldn't take a peanut butter sandwich for payment! Josh and I went to a function that our neighborhood held called "sip and stroll" where they had a ton of local restaurants and wineries get together and serve food and drinks. It was so much fun and so yummy. We went with friends that we've met down here that both have babies around Masons age. Mason did really well for the sitter (at least that's what she told me) and I did even better....I'm thinking the wine had something to do with that! I didn't even call home once and we were gone for 3.5 hours! Ha ha! After sip and stroll we went over to Sarah's house and had pizza and a play date with the boys. OK well here are some pictures from the week.

Week 18
Mason turned 4 months old this week. I can not believe it's already been 4 months! It doesn't seem that long at all! He is learning so many new things...some I like...some not so much! For example... I love it when he laughs at himself in the mirror or gets really shy around strangers, but flirts to make sure that they are looking at him. And I love it when he pulls the blanket around his face to show me that he wants to play peek-a-boo and lights up when I say I've found him. However, I am not so excited that he has learned to take the pacifier out of his mouth, but can not put it back in and cries when its gone. I could also do without him learning how to spit/squirt things out of his mouth and the new way he likes to "talk" in a high pitch screeching way. Ha ha! Everyday it seems like he picks up something new and its just begun! So, I noticed last week that Dakota has gotten fat. Like really fat! So this week Josh and I took him to the park by our house to run it out a little. I think he only lasted about 15 minutes before he was beyond tired! It was so good for him. We took Chewy too and I honestly think that she had forgotten how to run! At first she just sat in the grass and then laid down. Then I started chasing her and let her chase me and she just took off! She was having so much fun. It was like she had just forgot how much fun it was to run and chase things! It was so funny to watch her. I'm going to try and take them every week. Mason went to the Dr. on Friday for his 4 month shots. He weighed 15.1 lbs and was 25 inches. (50 percentile in both). She said that he looked great and was right on schedule for everything. He even pushed up on all fours for her. The shots went well. He cried when he got them, but was calm as soon as we held him. Then on Saturday it rained all day! It rained so much that we got trapped in the neighborhood by flash flooding. We tried to go out and saw so many cars stalled and no one could get over the bridge to get out. So needless to say, we stayed home most of the weekend and just hung out. By 7:00 pm the sun was out and the flooding gone. I guess there is just so much concrete here that there is no where for the water to go!

Week 17
Happy Easter Week! This week was a little hard because we knew our families were all together for Easter weekend and we were in Houston, but we tried to make the most out of it! We did our first art project and sent out Easter cards for family! It was so funny to watch Mason react to putting his hands in the paint. I thought that he would love it, but he actually didn't enjoy having his hands slimy and wet! However he did enjoy getting paint everywhere!!! I can't believe how much paint he got all over! It was still really fun and it was also a reminder of how small his little hands are! On Friday, Josh and I took Mason to "town square" (It's sort of like a Utica area) and enjoyed a nice afternoon/evening on the patio of a wine bar. I know that we will hate it in July, but right now the Houston weather is amazing! I had decided earlier that I wasn't going to get Mason an Easter basket cause I knew that he wouldn't care....but the holidays got the best of me and the Easter bunny ended up coming after all! Sunday started out really rainy, but ended up being a beautiful day and Josh and I got to cook out and have family time! It was a great weekend, but I missed the fried chicken and mashed potatoes! Maybe next year!!!
Week 16
This week Mason and I hung out and did our normal activities. We're in a really good routine and try to stick to it every week. We walk every day and try to do one activity out of the house (that's usually just going to the grocery store, but hey it gets us out of the house!). We also go into Houston and eat lunch with Josh once a week and do a little shopping at the Galleria, so that's always fun! However, on Saturday, we did something MAJOR! Mason went on his first plane trip! Josh was going out of town for a fishing trip, so we flew to Tulsa to see the grandparents. Mason did so good! He slept most of the flight there and then just hung out on the flight home. I was so worried, but he did really well! In B'ville we got to watch the OU girls game with Nana and Laura Lee and Mason got to go to work with me all week. He wasn't a big fan of sharing my time with work, but he started to get used to it. I'm starting to think I might spoil him too much! (I just can't help it! He's so much fun to pay attention to!) We also got to go on a walk with Megan and Pierson and it reminded me of our first summer in B'ville! I miss hanging out with Megan so much! Anyways, we had so much fun hanging out with MeMe and Grandpa and I must say, it was so much easier to fly than to drive. Being in Bartlesville really made me miss home and working, but coming back to Houston made me realize how much I enjoy staying home with Mason. I am so lucky to have this time with him, but I do miss "home"!
