Merry Christmas!

I hope that everyone had a fantastic Christmas! The past two weeks have been a little crazy and tiring around here, but really fun. Mason is doing great, he's a pretty good sleeper, although he's a little confused between day and night! He loves to sleep all day and is wide awake (but not too fussy) at night. We are working on trying to correct that, although it's not all that easy. We went to the Dr. this week and he's past his birth weight (8.9) and everything looks good. Meme and Grandpa came down on Christmas Eve and left today. It was so nice to have family around for Christmas and we had a great time just hanging out. We missed being with Josh's family, but we got a web cam for Christmas (thanks Nana) so we got to see everyone during the "big party", so that was fun. Josh is going back to work tomorrow and I can honestly say I'm nervous! He has been the biggest help with everything and it's going to be very hard and tiring to do it all by myself! The good thing is it's only a half week, so I will get some relief in a few days! I just have to remember to sleep when I can. OK, well reading this is the boring part, so I will get to the pictures now! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Welcome to The World Mason Dwight!

Mason Dwight Baker was born 12/15/2008 at 8:24 a.m. He weighed 8 lbs 6 0z and was 20 inches long. I will post more pictures and the birth story later, but just wanted to say Happy Birthday Mason and welcome to the world!

Snow in Houston??

Well it was no ice storm of 2007, but believe it or not, it snowed in Houston today! I took some photo's of our house with the Christmas lights and snow. It really is a big deal to have snow around here, the news said that the last time it snowed was Christmas Eve 2004. I told Josh that tonight would be the perfect night to have a baby! Although, at this point EVERY night is the perfect night to have a baby, but this would make a good story! No worries though, it is supposed to be in the 70's again this weekend!

Walking adventure

As most of you know, I have an odd obsession with walking and pregnancy hasn't stopped that. (Thank goodness considering how much weight I've gained with walking almost everyday, I can't even imagine what I would weigh if I didn't walk!) Anyways, last week I was walking with Dakota and we were being terrorized by a unleashed boxer that had escaped from his backyard. I was having a minor panic attack and Dakota was going crazy trying to protect me (as I struggled trying to hold him back from the dog) and show the other dog "who was boss". Well the dog follows us for about two miles and I called Josh about 3 times asking him what I should do (unfortunately he was no help!!) Well we are walking across one of the many road bridges in our neighborhood and I happen to look down at the water and see ......an ALLIGATOR! That's right, the dog is no longer my concern for now there is a giant alligator just hanging out and sun bathing in the neighborhood. I called Josh to tell him of the NEW big news and he says well the signs say "do not swim, waters may contain snakes and alligators". I respond by saying "may contain" and "look at the alligator less then 10 feet away from where I am about to walk, is totally different." It was completely crazy and I still can't believe it. Here are some photos that I took from my cell phone, they are sort of far away, but as you can imagine, I wasn't brave enough to get any closer. I did have to walk on the path right above him (where the shrubs are) but I pretty much ran that part and wasn't about to try and take a picture! Oh and the dogs never saw him (thankfully) and the boxer's (who I almost forgot was following us at this point) owner drove up about ten minutes later and picked him up. It was a very adventuress walk for one day!

Boomer Sooner!

This weekend we were very lucky to get two tickets to the OU/A&M game. It was the first Sooner's game that we've seen in person all year, so it was really fun. It was a fantastic game, with great weather and we had great seats! You can't beat the front row on the 10 yard line (Thanks again Terrell). It was amazing to see how big the players really are up close. We even got to be on TV! Tailgating before and after the game was even more fun and it was nice to be around other Sooner fans for awhile. Here are some pictures from the game, keep in mind they were taken from my phone, so they aren't the best!

As always, the band was fantastic! And as Terrell said "we never lose a half time!"

Halloween

Last weekend Josh and I just sort of hung around the house, so there wasn't much to write about. Halloween was fun. We went and got take out and watched TV while the neighbors came by. We were told to expect a lot of kids and did get a few, but not as many as we could have. Our neighbors across the street from us were having a "Halloween Block Party" complete with strobe lights and creepy music, so most of the kids and parents were over there and never crossed the street to our house. That being said, we still had about 75 kids come by. We even had one little boy that is 4 years old, ring the door bell and say "Boomer Sooner!" (He lives two house's over from us.) Needless to say, he got extra candy! We (I say "we", Josh says this part is all me) also figured that this was Chewy's last Halloween as the "baby", so she got all dressed up and greeted the kids at the door. She did like all the kids coming by and saying how cute she was, but as you can see in the pictures, she did not like the antenna hat! No worries Chewy! Next year, I will have Mason to torture! Ha ha!

Life in Houston

Well this week will mark two full months of living in Houston and we are still in the process of learning our way around town. I have to admit that it's really not as bad as I thought that it would be. I really enjoy having all the conveniences of a large city and the shopping is outstanding. We really enjoy our new neighborhood. (I should clarify that our "neighborhood" has more people in it than the city of Bartlesville!) There seems to be a lot of families around with lots of kids. They are always out and about playing and riding bikes, which is perfect for Josh and me. It's also been really nice to be able to just walk out the front door and go walking again. Driving into town didn't seem to be that bad at the time, but it didn't take long for me to get spoiled again! Dakota is also glad to be back on walks and the kids LOVE him! They are always stopping me and asking to pet him. He just stands there and lets them pet and hug on him. There is one little group of girls that even kiss him. He loves the attention. It's so funny. I went to the Dr. last week and everything looks great so far. He said that Mason is still measuring three weeks ahead and is a little worried about how big he will get. He said that if I haven't gone into labor by Dec. 14th then he wants to induce, so that I will have a better chance of not having a c-section. I go again on Friday, so will have to update more later. We've almost got the nursery done, just a few more odds and ends that we need to wrap up. I'm going to try my hardest to get pics up this week. I know that I'm not going to be good at this blog thing, but I will try my hardest to at least get pictures up, after all that is the best part about looking at someones blog! Ok well after lots and lots of people asking I'm going to post a few belly shots. I can't believe I'm doing this, but I've been in hiding for long enough. These are from OU/Tx and last week. I can't belive how big I've gotten and I still have 7 weeks to go! Lord help me!
