Week 16

This week Mason and I hung out and did our normal activities. We're in a really good routine and try to stick to it every week. We walk every day and try to do one activity out of the house (that's usually just going to the grocery store, but hey it gets us out of the house!). We also go into Houston and eat lunch with Josh once a week and do a little shopping at the Galleria, so that's always fun! However, on Saturday, we did something MAJOR! Mason went on his first plane trip! Josh was going out of town for a fishing trip, so we flew to Tulsa to see the grandparents. Mason did so good! He slept most of the flight there and then just hung out on the flight home. I was so worried, but he did really well! In B'ville we got to watch the OU girls game with Nana and Laura Lee and Mason got to go to work with me all week. He wasn't a big fan of sharing my time with work, but he started to get used to it. I'm starting to think I might spoil him too much! (I just can't help it! He's so much fun to pay attention to!) We also got to go on a walk with Megan and Pierson and it reminded me of our first summer in B'ville! I miss hanging out with Megan so much! Anyways, we had so much fun hanging out with MeMe and Grandpa and I must say, it was so much easier to fly than to drive. Being in Bartlesville really made me miss home and working, but coming back to Houston made me realize how much I enjoy staying home with Mason. I am so lucky to have this time with him, but I do miss "home"!

Week 15

What a BIG boy week! We had such a good week and did tons of big boy stuff, he's growing so fast it amazes me! First, Mason moved into his own big boy room this week! We moved his pack-n-play into his room on Sunday night and he slept through the night, just like he's been doing in our room. He still has those night terrors (where he makes a high pitched squeal, but is totally asleep) about two times a night, but he did that in our room. On Saturday, we moved him into his crib and again he acted like nothing had changed! After hearing all the horror stories about getting babies to sleep in their own room/crib, I feel so lucky! We also took the hammock out of his bathtub and he can sit up in his tub all by himself, took the infant head rest out of his car seat and moved up a size in diapers! It was so funny to watch him move his head around in the car seat and look at all the the things that he couldn't see before. He has so much more room in the seat, that he looks around everywhere! He also learned how to splash in his tub, but can't figure out where the water that hits him is coming from. He looks so confused when he gets wet! The biggest thing that he has started is teething! He drools all over the place, he's cranky for no reason, and now loves the cold teething toys! I didn't realize he could start teething so soon, but I've read that its very common. He hasn't cut his first tooth yet, but you can start to see some white spots by his two bottom teeth. We will have to wait and see, if only we could roll over!

Week 14

We went to Bartlesville and Hominy this week and I have about a million pictures! We had so much fun visiting with family and friends. We spent 10 days in Oklahoma and it still wasn't enough time. The first part of the week we spent in Bartlesville and got to spend some time with my aunt and uncle from Maryland and my aunt from Tulsa. Plus Kc and Alison came down one night, so there was family all over! It was a lot of fun. I also got to take Mason to the gym to show him off (I also got put to work while I was there! Ha ha! I actually had a really good time working and it made me miss my job a lot!) Then on Thursday we went to Hominy where Daniel (Josh's brother), Cyndy and their three kids Kyle, Alex, and Keith came down as well as Cody (Josh's other brother). We had a blast hanging out with everyone and would just like to say that "the game of things" (sold at Target) might be the most fun game ever! On Saturday I went to Tulsa for Jennifer's baby shower (only 9 weeks until baby Kaylen arrives!) It was so good to see friends! I had such a good time catching up with everyone! I can't wait to meet baby Kaylen (after all she will be my daughter in-law someday!). It was really hard to come home this time. We really miss all of our families and sometime wish that we still lived in our Ochelata house (which sold this week....I guess we really do live in Houston now!) and could see our family all the time. We do like Houston, but we miss our families! We love you all and miss you tons!

Week 13

This week Mason learned how to sit in his bumbo and he loves it! Most of you know that he hates "tummy time" (where he lays on his stomach to try and strengthen his neck muscles) so I'm hoping that spending time in the bumbo will help out with that. He likes to sit and watch me as I go around the room. We also took Mason to his first NBA game. We went to see the Rockets play the Lakers and had a blast. He loved the scoreboard that went all around the arena and flashed lights like crazy. He hung out in the bjorn most of the time and eventually just went to sleep (yes, he slept with all the cheering and screaming! ) It was a really good time and I'm excited to see my next game! They do a great job entertaining the crowd when they aren't playing. Oh and Yao is so freaking tall! It was amazing!

Look at me sit in my bumbo!

Week 12

Wow what a week! Megan, Drew and Pierson came to visit this weekend and we had a blast! They came in on Friday afternoon and that evening we all went dinner on the patio of a Mexican restaurant (just like the good old days in Dewey!). On Saturday, Megan participated in a 5k, so i felt guilty and went walking. Then we all went to Galveston to eat lunch and see the ocean. Saturday night we had a cookout and just hung out. On Sunday we got up and went to the zoo, went shopping in Katy, and got take out to eat at home. On Monday I was so sad to take them to the airport! It is so much fun to have friends here for the weekend and we got to do so much stuff! Pierson is getting so big and I can't wait for Mason to do all the stuff that he can do! Love you Proctor Family! Come visit us anytime!

Week 11

This week Mason and I worked really hard on learning how to play! We had so much fun getting out new toys. He would just laugh when they made noises and would kick his feet or wave his arms around to shake the rattles. He's not the biggest fan of tummy time, but we are still working on it! He's also getting better hand control and can now grab toys and tends to death grip them! It's so fun to watch him learn new stuff! This weekend Josh and I went on our first adult date since Mason was born. Nana came down on Friday and babysat for us while we went to a fundraiser for the school that I substituted for before Mason was born. We had a really good time, but were really sad when Nana told us that she was going home two days early! It was such a fast trip that we didn't even get a picture with her! Josh and I also have a lot to learn about babysitting.....poor Nana had to eat a peanut butter sandwich for dinner! We are so sorry about the sandwich Nana and are so thankful that you came down...even if it was just for a day!

Ok this picture looks strange, but I am dangling rings above him and he's watching them.
