Week 19
It's official! Mason had his first babysitter experience. We've had family watch him a few times, but this was a real babysitter, that wouldn't take a peanut butter sandwich for payment! Josh and I went to a function that our neighborhood held called "sip and stroll" where they had a ton of local restaurants and wineries get together and serve food and drinks. It was so much fun and so yummy. We went with friends that we've met down here that both have babies around Masons age. Mason did really well for the sitter (at least that's what she told me) and I did even better....I'm thinking the wine had something to do with that! I didn't even call home once and we were gone for 3.5 hours! Ha ha! After sip and stroll we went over to Sarah's house and had pizza and a play date with the boys. OK well here are some pictures from the week.

Week 18
Mason turned 4 months old this week. I can not believe it's already been 4 months! It doesn't seem that long at all! He is learning so many new things...some I like...some not so much! For example... I love it when he laughs at himself in the mirror or gets really shy around strangers, but flirts to make sure that they are looking at him. And I love it when he pulls the blanket around his face to show me that he wants to play peek-a-boo and lights up when I say I've found him. However, I am not so excited that he has learned to take the pacifier out of his mouth, but can not put it back in and cries when its gone. I could also do without him learning how to spit/squirt things out of his mouth and the new way he likes to "talk" in a high pitch screeching way. Ha ha! Everyday it seems like he picks up something new and its just begun! So, I noticed last week that Dakota has gotten fat. Like really fat! So this week Josh and I took him to the park by our house to run it out a little. I think he only lasted about 15 minutes before he was beyond tired! It was so good for him. We took Chewy too and I honestly think that she had forgotten how to run! At first she just sat in the grass and then laid down. Then I started chasing her and let her chase me and she just took off! She was having so much fun. It was like she had just forgot how much fun it was to run and chase things! It was so funny to watch her. I'm going to try and take them every week. Mason went to the Dr. on Friday for his 4 month shots. He weighed 15.1 lbs and was 25 inches. (50 percentile in both). She said that he looked great and was right on schedule for everything. He even pushed up on all fours for her. The shots went well. He cried when he got them, but was calm as soon as we held him. Then on Saturday it rained all day! It rained so much that we got trapped in the neighborhood by flash flooding. We tried to go out and saw so many cars stalled and no one could get over the bridge to get out. So needless to say, we stayed home most of the weekend and just hung out. By 7:00 pm the sun was out and the flooding gone. I guess there is just so much concrete here that there is no where for the water to go!

Week 17
Happy Easter Week! This week was a little hard because we knew our families were all together for Easter weekend and we were in Houston, but we tried to make the most out of it! We did our first art project and sent out Easter cards for family! It was so funny to watch Mason react to putting his hands in the paint. I thought that he would love it, but he actually didn't enjoy having his hands slimy and wet! However he did enjoy getting paint everywhere!!! I can't believe how much paint he got all over! It was still really fun and it was also a reminder of how small his little hands are! On Friday, Josh and I took Mason to "town square" (It's sort of like a Utica area) and enjoyed a nice afternoon/evening on the patio of a wine bar. I know that we will hate it in July, but right now the Houston weather is amazing! I had decided earlier that I wasn't going to get Mason an Easter basket cause I knew that he wouldn't care....but the holidays got the best of me and the Easter bunny ended up coming after all! Sunday started out really rainy, but ended up being a beautiful day and Josh and I got to cook out and have family time! It was a great weekend, but I missed the fried chicken and mashed potatoes! Maybe next year!!!
Week 16
This week Mason and I hung out and did our normal activities. We're in a really good routine and try to stick to it every week. We walk every day and try to do one activity out of the house (that's usually just going to the grocery store, but hey it gets us out of the house!). We also go into Houston and eat lunch with Josh once a week and do a little shopping at the Galleria, so that's always fun! However, on Saturday, we did something MAJOR! Mason went on his first plane trip! Josh was going out of town for a fishing trip, so we flew to Tulsa to see the grandparents. Mason did so good! He slept most of the flight there and then just hung out on the flight home. I was so worried, but he did really well! In B'ville we got to watch the OU girls game with Nana and Laura Lee and Mason got to go to work with me all week. He wasn't a big fan of sharing my time with work, but he started to get used to it. I'm starting to think I might spoil him too much! (I just can't help it! He's so much fun to pay attention to!) We also got to go on a walk with Megan and Pierson and it reminded me of our first summer in B'ville! I miss hanging out with Megan so much! Anyways, we had so much fun hanging out with MeMe and Grandpa and I must say, it was so much easier to fly than to drive. Being in Bartlesville really made me miss home and working, but coming back to Houston made me realize how much I enjoy staying home with Mason. I am so lucky to have this time with him, but I do miss "home"!

Week 15
What a BIG boy week! We had such a good week and did tons of big boy stuff, he's growing so fast it amazes me! First, Mason moved into his own big boy room this week! We moved his pack-n-play into his room on Sunday night and he slept through the night, just like he's been doing in our room. He still has those night terrors (where he makes a high pitched squeal, but is totally asleep) about two times a night, but he did that in our room. On Saturday, we moved him into his crib and again he acted like nothing had changed! After hearing all the horror stories about getting babies to sleep in their own room/crib, I feel so lucky! We also took the hammock out of his bathtub and he can sit up in his tub all by himself, took the infant head rest out of his car seat and moved up a size in diapers! It was so funny to watch him move his head around in the car seat and look at all the the things that he couldn't see before. He has so much more room in the seat, that he looks around everywhere! He also learned how to splash in his tub, but can't figure out where the water that hits him is coming from. He looks so confused when he gets wet! The biggest thing that he has started is teething! He drools all over the place, he's cranky for no reason, and now loves the cold teething toys! I didn't realize he could start teething so soon, but I've read that its very common. He hasn't cut his first tooth yet, but you can start to see some white spots by his two bottom teeth. We will have to wait and see, if only we could roll over!

Week 14
We went to Bartlesville and Hominy this week and I have about a million pictures! We had so much fun visiting with family and friends. We spent 10 days in Oklahoma and it still wasn't enough time. The first part of the week we spent in Bartlesville and got to spend some time with my aunt and uncle from Maryland and my aunt from Tulsa. Plus Kc and Alison came down one night, so there was family all over! It was a lot of fun. I also got to take Mason to the gym to show him off (I also got put to work while I was there! Ha ha! I actually had a really good time working and it made me miss my job a lot!) Then on Thursday we went to Hominy where Daniel (Josh's brother), Cyndy and their three kids Kyle, Alex, and Keith came down as well as Cody (Josh's other brother). We had a blast hanging out with everyone and would just like to say that "the game of things" (sold at Target) might be the most fun game ever! On Saturday I went to Tulsa for Jennifer's baby shower (only 9 weeks until baby Kaylen arrives!) It was so good to see friends! I had such a good time catching up with everyone! I can't wait to meet baby Kaylen (after all she will be my daughter in-law someday!). It was really hard to come home this time. We really miss all of our families and sometime wish that we still lived in our Ochelata house (which sold this week....I guess we really do live in Houston now!) and could see our family all the time. We do like Houston, but we miss our families! We love you all and miss you tons!
Megan and Drew playing with Mason....I think they need baby #2! (they say no!)
About to fall asleep
