Week 47

What a laid back week! Nothing too exciting happened and it was a nice change! The weather has been so nice (high 70's to mid 80's) so Mason and I have been going to the park a lot. He loves to swing and climb up and down the steps of the jungle gym. He also likes to watch the other kids play. I think its great because he just sits and watches, so that gives me a break of chasing him around! We've also been spending a lot of evenings on the patio by the chiminea. I love this time a year (although it seems more like late September and not November!!) On Saturday we cooked out and had some friends over for the OU game. Josh even had a TV set up on the patio. It was a perfect evening by the fire, with good food and good company, too bad OU is having a rough year! Mason has been doing a lot of standing lately and is getting much better at it. He still likes to walk with help from us (holding his hands above him) but he likes crawling better. I think its because he's so much faster when he crawls! He's starting to get braver and letting go and standing alone and has even shuffled his feet making one or two little 1/2 steps. However, he's not all the interested in it and I'm still not 100% ready for him to take off walking, so that's fine with me!

Look Mom...I can stand and eat!

Remember all the pictures I took of him when the boppy and bottle looked so big? Not so much anymore!

Week 46

Happy Halloween!!!! Hope everyone had a great Halloween weekend. This week the weather has actually been pretty chilly and feelings like fall. I'm not going to say that it was cold, but it has been getting colder in the evenings and early mornings. Mason and I have been walking in the morning, so I had to go out and buy him a hat, since he's out grown his baby hats. I think that Aunt Alison and Uncle Kc will be very proud! On Friday we went to the Gym"boo"ree Halloween party. It was so cute to see all the babies dressed up and Josh got off work early and got to see Mason in action. On Halloween night we did a little trick or treating (OK that's exaggerating...we went to two houses!) and then passed out candy. Mason wore his Lion costume for the last time (I'm pretty sure he's not sad about that!) and even though I said last year would be her last year for torture, unfortunately for Chewy, she was tortured again this year. I just can't resist!

Week 45

More Fall Fun this week. This week was my week to host playgroup, so I arranged to go to this really cute pumpkin patch in our neighborhood. The kids were able to play games, have storybook time, and we got some really cute pictures. It was fun to watch all the babies play around in the pumpkins. On Thursday Mason and I went outside and played with the neighbor kids for the first time since Mason was really little. He was mesmerized, just watching them play and they even played with him and his scooter, letting him walk and chase them. He was cracking up and squealing all over the place! I told my neighbor that if I knew he would have been so entertained by them, I would have gone outside a long time ago. By the time we came in, he was exhausted and took a good two hour nap! Talk about the perfect entertainment. On Saturday, one of our friends had a Halloween Party for all the babies. It was so cute seeing everyone in their Halloween outfits and watching them all play and run around all night. Its crazy how active they are all becoming. I cant imagine what next year will be like! Mason did better in his outfit, but trying to get a picture with all the kids, was not going to happen! I wish I would have had a video of all the parents trying to get all the kids to sit, in costume, and all at the same time. It was hysterical! Man, we have cute friends! ;)

Look what I found!

Week 44

Road Tripping'! We went to Austin this weekend to watch the OU/Texas game at Larry and Judy's lake house. We met MeMe and Grandpa there and had a blast hanging out all weekend at the lake. It was funny to think that last year I was super pregnant while we were there and this year Mason was all over the place! The weather was fantastic (it actually felt like fall!) and we even got to go on a great walk and see these amazing homes. Austin is such a beautiful city. Game day was fun, it could have had a better ending, but the Sooners did a great job. Mason is so good when we travel. Even with driving all over and staying up later then usual. I feel like we are super lucky that he is very flexible in his schedule. He's pulling up and cruising on everything these days and is always busy! He plays really hard and never stops until nap time. He's started making this squawking noise, MeMe says he sounds like a little bird. He also babbles all the time, but is not really associating words with objects. Don't be surprised when his first words are Boomer Sooner!

Really Mase? Not even one goldfish in your mouth?

Road Trippin'!!!! Let me drive Dad!

Week 43

I have a Baker boy that's for sure! Mason is strong willed, not going to do anything that he doesn't want to do, into everything, eats everything, has "freak" accidents, and his smile melts my heart! He has started standing on his own, but only when we trick him into it. Its like he hasn't figured out that he can stand, but if I move away from him without him noticing he will stand for about 30-60 seconds. But as soon as he figures out he's on his own, he sits down immediately. It's so funny. Josh was gone fishing this week (working is so hard, ha ha!), so Mason and I were on our own for three days. It went really fast and Mason and I had a great time. The cold weather found its way into Houston this weekend and its about time! It was so nice to actually feel fall! We hung out as a family all weekend. We had the windows up, made soup, baked, and watched football. It was the perfect weekend if I say so! Mason is eating all people food (no more baby food besides 3 bottles) and he's so serious when he eats. He makes is very clear that no one messes with his food! ha ha! However, you can always tell when he's finished eating, because he starts feeding Chewy and Dakota by dropping food over his high chair.

True Baker boy searching the fridge for food!

Maybe there's something over here

Walking with hands

Pushing chairs

Tell me again why I buy him all expensive toys and he plays with the chair??

Making his "squawking" noise....it seems to be his favorite, besides DaDa (but I'm not bitter about that.....boo! ha ha!)

So Serious!

"Mom! Stop taking pictures and fill my plate!'

His head scar is almost invisible and its only been one week!!!!

He loves riding on his scooter chair! He has the biggest smile when we push him around!
