Week 28

Vacationing in Oklahoma....what a change from the beaches that we used to visit for vacation! Actually we had such a great week and it was so good to hang out with family and friends and relax and play in the pool. Mason got all sorts of new clothes and a new swimsuit that he loves for his 6 month birthday (thanks MeMe!) and I must say....he looks pretty studly! We were so happy that Kc, Alison and Laura Lee were able to come down and swim all day with us and that we got to have dinner with the Proctor family! I even had time to sneak off with my mom for a day of shopping! I don't think that I could ask for a better week. On Saturday MeMe babysat Mason for us while we went to Chauntay and Chris's wedding. It was so much fun to see everyone that we haven't seen in so long and it was the first time that all six of us girls have been together in a long time. Its crazy that we are all married now and that three of us have babies and yet when we are all together its like nothing ever changed, no matter how long its been since we've seen each other! Unfortunately, I was told that Mason was having just as much fun and protested going to bed. After a two hour struggle, Grandpa finally won! Sorry about that MeMe! Apparently he just really wanted to hang out all night! I also have to say Happy 4th Anniversary to Josh and thanks for all of our family for helping us celebrate. Its crazy to think that four years ago we were in Vegas getting married! I am so thankful to have such a wonderful husband. The past four years have flown by and I can't wait to see what it ahead for us!

Week 27

Six months and counting! Mason had his six months check up this week and got more shots. He weighed 16.6 lbs, 26.4 inches tall and was in the 25% in all categories. He was a little more irritable then usual considering I made his Dr. appointment right in the middle of nap time (not the smartest move on my part), but like in the past. he took his shots like a champ. Just one little cry when it happened and was fine after. He also tried to get an eye test but wanted no part of that (I can't blame him...they wanted him to sit still for 15 minutes! That's not going to happen with a 6 month old!). But I did get a very cute picture of him with his patch on! On Friday we drove to Oklahoma. I was a little worried about driving 9 hours with Mason now that he's much more active! He did a great job just sleeping and playing all the way. He's still really into his feet, so that helped out a lot! Ha ha! We've had a great weekend hanging out with family and friends, going to cookouts and weddings. Sunday was Josh's first Fathers day and I hope that it was a good one. We had a cook out and swim party at my parents house and it was such a fun day! Mason got in the pool and splashed around and had a blast floating on the rafts and hanging out with Dad. I just want to say that Josh is such a great Dad and helps out so much with Mason. I love watching the way Mason lights up when Josh comes in the room and just laughs when they play together. There is no way that I could do this without Josh's help and am so proud of how great of a Dad he is! We love you so much and appreciate you so much!

Week 26

We took Mason to the park for the first time this week. I wasn't sure if he would fit in the baby swing yet or if he would even like it considering he no longer likes his infant swing that we have at home. The swing was a little big, but he can sit up well enough now that it was fine and he loved it! We've been to the park three times this week and he just smiles the whole time. This weekend was all about play dates and parties! We started out with a play date at our friend Grants house and then went to "The Grill" for dinner with a group of friends that go to dinner every Friday. Then on Saturday Josh and I went to a grown up birthday party and Mason got to have a play date with Paige the babysitter. We had a blast....Lets just say that Brian and Lauren know how to have a birthday party the right way! On Sunday we went to our friend Cole's 1st Birthday and Mason had so much fun playing with all the other kids. Cole was so cute eating his cake! It's amazing how big everyone is getting. I can't believe Mason is already half way through the first year.

Week 25

This was an easy week. Mason is back to sleeping through the night and he's a much happier baby for it! After visiting MeMe and Grandpa and sleeping through the night in the pack n' play, I put him back in the PNP in his room and he's been perfect. I don't know what it is about his crib that was waking him up, but as of right now, I don't care as long as he's back to sleeping all night! This week we had lunch with Josh, play group, Gymboree, and lunch with friends. It was actually pretty perfect! If only they could all be that easy! Mason is growing like crazy and is into everything. There are no more peaceful dinners with him in the car seat. He wants to be sitting at the table (he sits in a high chair too now) and grabbing everything in sight. Its an adventure every time we go out. But I have to say, its a lot of fun and makes my day go by so much faster!
